Q: What services does the Gondwana Travel Centre offer?

A: The Gondwana Travel Centre offers destination management services as well as travel agency services for individual travellers. We provide travel solutions for holidays or business trips in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls) and South Africa, including car rentals, accommodation bookings, safari activities, custom itineraries, self-drive and guided tours for individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Q: Can you help me plan a full itinerary for Namibia and the neighbouring countries?

A: Yes. We offer a variety of guided tours as well as tailor-made itineraries based on your travel dates, interests, and budget, including accommodation, transportation, and activities.

Q: Do you offer special travel packages, e.g. for honeymoons or anniversaries?

A: Absolutely. We will craft a memorable experience tailored just for you. Simply contact us!

Q: Do you arrange group or business travel?

A: No. Travel insurance is not included by default, but we highly recommend purchasing coverage before your departure.

Q: Are the lodges environmentally friendly?

A: In most cases, yes. Gondwana Travel Centre supports sustainable travel and ecotourism. Whenever possible, we book accommodation options that are sustainably managed and committed to social responsibility.

Q: Are meals included with my accommodation?

A: Many lodges include breakfast and dinner. However, meal plans vary by property and are clearly indicated during the booking process and in your travel itinerary.

Q: Can I book lodges other than Gondwana properties through you?

A: Absolutely. We work with a variety of carefully selected lodges, guesthouses, hotels, and campsites across Namibia and southern Africa to provide flexible options that suit your preferences and budget.

Q: Can the Gondwana Travel Centre arrange a hire car for me?

A: Yes! We offer car rentals through trusted providers with a wide range of vehicles, including 4x4s ideal for self-drive safaris, camping trips and exploring southern Africa’s diverse terrain.

Q: Is a 4x4 required for travelling in Namibia and southern Africa?

A: Not necessarily. While main roads are accessible with a sedan, a 4x4 is recommended for national parks, gravel roads, and off-the-beaten-track destinations.

Q: What safari experiences and activities can I book?

Q: Can I book day tours or experiences without accommodation?

Q: Is Namibia and southern Africa suitable for self-drive travel?

A: Definitely. Namibia is one of Africa’s top self-drive destinations, perfectly suited for travellers who visit the African continent for the first time. We will assist with car rental, accommodation, maps, and tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable road trip.

Q: Where can I travel with the Gondwana Travel Centre and Gondwana.travel?

A: Our focus is Namibia, including top destinations like Etosha National Park, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Fish River Canyon, and the Zambezi Region. We also assist with cross-border travel to Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Q: What is the best time to visit Namibia?

Q: Do I need a visa to travel to Namibia?

A: Namibia follows a reciprocal visa policy. Many nationalities can enter Namibia visa-free for up to 90 days; others have to apply for specific visa, e.g. the Visa on Arrival for most Europeans and US nationals. Check the Namibian Ministry of Home Affairs website or your nearest embassy for the latest info.

Q: What currency is used in Namibia?

A: The Namibian Dollar (NAD), which is pegged 1:1 to the South African Rand (ZAR). Both are accepted in Namibia. Conversely, it is not possible to pay with NAD in South Africa.

Q: Is Namibia safe for tourists?

A: Yes. Namibia is one of the safest countries in Africa for visitors. But please practice normal travel precautions, especially in urban areas or when driving. Click here for useful tips.
