National Airline: Air Namibia

Namibia Airports Company
Travel in Namibia is safe and relatively uncomplicated; the infrastructure is excellent with well-maintained roads, frequently situated fuel stations and a wide variety of shops, it is comparatively cheap and offers excellent safari experiences. Namibia is a popular self-drive destination; although most Game Reserves are easily accessible, parts of the country remain only accessible to authorised tour operators where either guided safaris or fly-in safaris are recommended.
How to get there
By Air: Namibia is directly accessible by regular international flights from Europe via direct flight with Air Namibia from Frankfurt & via neighbouring countries such as Johannesburg & Cape Town on all other major airlines. Towns and lodges are linked internally by scheduled or charter flights. Maun, Victoria Falls, Luanda, Lusaka and Accra is serviced via Air Namibia on direct routes from Windhoek.

National Airline: Air Botswana
IATA Code: BP
Travel in Botswana is safe and fairly uncomplicated; the infrastructure is generally good although some of the reserves and lodges can only be reached by charter flights. Of the 10 districts within Botswana, Nagamiland and Chobe Districts (northern part) are the hubs of the tourism industry. The principal draw cards to Ngamiland are the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park.
The ultimate way to see Botswana is to get deep into the heartlands of Moremi, Chobe, Linyanti and the Okavango and this is done by charter flights. A number of private charter companies provide light aircraft internal flights throughout the country. Light aircraft used out of Maun are mostly the Cessna 206, 210 and Grand Caravan.
Although Botswana has a good system of roads from neighbouring South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, the distances involved result in most visitors preferring to fly. We do not recommend the self drive option for the novice traveller; we suggest that you do your research before arriving.
Note: The government has a policy to encourage low tourism impact on the country's game parks and therefore entry fees are fairly high.
